In school I have a felony

He's got a lot of years in the industry.....lol tread lightly. Honestly, he didn't tell you wrong. There are a lot of threads on here where guys had a record, and couldn't find a job. Some are fairly recent. Schools will make an effort to place you, but once those 3 or 4 weeks are up, then you're on your own. Felons do get jobs out of school, but there are just as many who don't, if not more. Schools do take people's money and don't give a care whether you find work or not. Of course the school is going to tell you that you'll be fine. What else are they gonna say? If they tell you otherwise, you'll quit. Think about it....why would they hurt their bottom line? So.....all that being said, @tscottme did give you facts.

I have met more than a few felons that flatbed.

I would look at west virginia oil field. Southern Ohio.

 

That's fair. At a period of my life before trucking I seemed to only get close to anything good by stretching definitions, maybe adjusting documents to say things I needed them to say. Nothing major, but kinda shady. I'm not offended. I'm not trying to offend you. I hope you get great success.

When I got into trucking my life turned around and I could be the super-qualified guy & not the almost qualified guy if you don't look too close. Trucking turns lots of people's life around. I know divorced & broke cops, bankrupt soldiers, etc and trucking saved their life. I hope it can turn your life around. But how I want things to turn out doesn't decide how things turn out. I think telling people what they want to hear is cruel & dishonest & can destroy a life. I'm not deciding your future. It is just my opinion. I don't know everything but I did several very different things & learned some lessons that applied to the rest of life. I come across much much more hard than in real life. The only way I know to help strangers is give them what I've learned during my 28 years in trucking before I retired early because I can. I chased dreams. I did ok ok my dream didn't work out. Everyone takes a different path to the finish line. I re-wrote my last reply several times trying to find a more positive idea. That was the best I could do.
