Yeah, didn't know, best wishes to him and you. On the Jeep, I go for stock, since if you're keeping it, and may eventually pass it on yourself to someone else, they will need to be able to get parts, also, and the further from stock it is, the more likely you won't find them, and any repairs will involve fabrication rather than just ordering.

2 door, one of better looking Jeeps. I’m not real excited about the 4 doors others than a modern Scrambler / CJ8 known as a Gladiator now.
Freind across town has a CJ8 & a 1969 AMC AMX….
