That is not what is happening. Landstar has a program in place to road test drivers. It has always been in the regs but Landstar wasn't testing. The violations are over the threshold so it is now a thing. There is no due date for individual drivers. As long as Landstar has a testing program in place and is testing drivers, bco's can continue to book loads requiring tank endorsement. With around 7000 bco's having tank endorsements on their cdl's, it's going to take a while to get everyone through the program, if ever with all the new drivers coming in each year. As long as Landstar makes a good faith effort bco's can continue to book loads.
Landstar BCO count down.

I thought so. I couldn't get the person responding in email to admit they have been violating the regulations then. But long as they aren't trying to force me to go somewhere to take this road test or force me to drop the endorsement (the lady literally said "you have the option to drop the endorsement") I am okay with it. I will take it when I get near one of the facilities that does the testing. By force I mean doing something like put my truck on hold or something like that.

Actually, it's the tanker thing as the FMCSA does not require road tests for all drivers except those that will have the Doubles/Triples or Tank endorsement.

§391.31 Road test.
Guidance Q&A
Question 1: Are employers still required to administer road tests since all States have implemented CDL skills testing?
Guidance: The employer may accept a CDL in lieu of a road test if the driver is required to successfully complete a road test to obtain a CDL in the State of issuance. However, if the employer intends to assign to the driver a vehicle necessitating the doubles/triples or tank vehicle endorsement, the employer must administer the road test under §391.31 in a representative vehicle.blairandgretchen, Stringb8n and dosgatos Thank this. -
I sent an email to ask if there was a due date and if I'd be put on hold and told no.Stringb8n Thanks this.
