That is awesome!
What other maintenance do you do? Any def issues? There was another thread here of a driver with 1.2+ million miles on his cascadia and it was interesting.

Just your normal maintenance, replaced DEF pump about 1.5 years ago, just replaced DPF's got 540k out of them, did new DEF doser at same time, have only had to replace 1 NOX sensor but like I said it never hardly has to idle so in the almost 4.5 years I've owned it I've never had to do a manual regen. With my transmission and axle ratio she still gets from 9.5 to 11 MPG. The DD13 has a B50 rating of 1 million miles meaning 50% make a million miles with no rebuild.cascadia4life Thanks this. -
Just remembered it had an injector go bad in the 800's so I just went ahead and replaced all 6.

Bought it at 900k km. Used to be fleet truck. They have never done overhead tune. After I replaced the head I was doing overhead yearly. Didn't help. Started same problem after same milage. The point is that Detroit knows the problem but they didn't change anything. Google for it. Valve recession DD15. Common problem.cascadia4life Thanks this.

Good move. I once worked for the fleet with the brown trucks. Some of the tractors had Detroit's which had a problem with leaking injectors. One would leak fuel and dilute the oil until the computer shut the truck down for low oil pressure. Truck would be towed in, pressure test and only replace the one that leaked. Drain, add about 42 quarts of oil and change the filters. A month later the truck would be back for another injector leaking. Rinse and repeat until all 6 were replaced.Gridaxe5588 Thanks this.

Yeah just don't get why companies or OO's would half ##* the job on what makes them money. Lost revenue for being down 1 time is much better than 6.cascadia4life and JB7 Thank this. -
That's crazy! But I just quoted the price of one injector at Freightliner here in Ontario, Canada and it's around 1200$ CAD just for one, with a core of 445$... Almost 5k CAD not including labour. Crazy money
-
thanks for your feedback. I will google that shortly. By the way... Freightliner gave me a quote of 10k plus CAD for a new head and around 7k for a reman head.
What's your take on reman heads? -
$7565 US parts and labor for all 6. That trip to the dealer cost me $11375 total and I was off a little on the miles that happened at 911k. -
Oh it definitely can get to a million. I remember this driver who ran with the now defunct Henderson Trucking, he came to the Freightliner broke down....he was leasing the truck, 4 years in. He had 900k on that truck. The company tried to get him to take out a lease around 500k. He declined. I think he made a mistake there.cascadia4life Thanks this.
