You're quite fortunate to have an understanding and adaptable partner. My wife is at a point in which she is wanting something more traditional. I agree, holidays are just a date on the calendar. She lives for those holidays, and they no longer excite me. I took vacation time for my son's graduation, but there were 2 other events as well. I actually get better rest on the road than I do at home, crazy to say. After 1 event, I don't one to party or anything else for awhile. I like quiet so much more than I used to. Took 5 days off, and by the 3rd day, I was ready to come back out....sometimes even sooner lol.Friend, Lumper Humper, Knucklehead and 1 other person Thank this.

FedEx is hiring for local where I'm at. It's for a independent contractor. Only starting at .56 a mile. Seems kinda low to me but it says ya can make 1200 to 1600 a week an home every day. I'd have to be at the 1600 level on a regular basis though.bryan21384 and Lumper Humper Thank this.

That’s fedex ground, you’d want fedex freight which is where I’m at now. .76cpm is what I’m making currently.Friend, Speedy356, Professor No-Name and 1 other person Thank this.

How many miles does a line haul driver run on average? Is it only mileage pay in the line haul world?Friend and Lumper Humper Thank this.

I’m covering a run for the next few weeks that’s 2,590 a week. It all depends on the hub you’re out of and the bid you have. We get mileage, delay, and task pay. Task pay consists of getting paid for drops, hooks, fueling and is basically a portion of our hourly rate. 1 drop and 1 hook = an hour of pay while fueling is a quarter. Delay pay is for getting stuck in traffic, taking naps while our trailers are getting loaded, chaining, etc.bryan21384 and wulfman75 Thank this.

I don't know I missed this reply man. I apologize for that. That's the part that's missing for OTR right there some of that accessory pay. That means you're rich lol......I sure was somewhat close to you last week as I had to deliver in Spokane....I should have shouted loudly, you might have heard me lolLumper Humper Thanks this.

I thought you guys didn't go out west that much, during the summertime no less?
Don't know where you were coming from, but it's definitely a nice drive this time of year.Lumper Humper and bryan21384 Thank this. -
The teams usually get to go out west frequently. The solos go every once in awhile. It's a treat for solos lol. I had picked up outnof Holts Summit, MO. They were sending a team out there too, but what was weird was that the team had to deliver on the same day I did, which was last Tuesday. I thought they would have got there on Monday. I'm sure they completed the backhaul sooner though.Friend, Lumper Humper and BeHereNow97 Thank this.
