Looking at a used volvo vnl 670 and got a dyno done. Can someone tell me if there’s anything major reading here that looks bad?

I know the soot issue but it’s getting the one box replaced off recall, so just looking for some knowledge here, Dealership i took it to said “engine runs strong” and that the truck looks good.

Yea i see a lot of issues. A lot of transmission error codes, a lot of ECM error codes a lot of electrical codes. Now i know diddly about volvos but 127 ACTIVE codes related to a transmission lots and lots of codes related to the ECM and more tells me that truck has major issues. Id be hard nopeing out of it if i saw that on a MX or ISX engine. @Siinman is a volvo guy and may know more and have a better opinion. But even outside emissiond stuff i see a lot that alarms ME. But again not a volvo person. Regardless. That many active codes is never a good sign

Agreed on this one. I would not be touching this thing. Gonna guess the ISHIFT Transmission is going out based off of some of those codes. Also lots of those codes are Active, Meaning they cannot pass the Pre Check when starting the truck.

Doesn't look like a deal I would be willing to make.

That’s funny because I got this dyno and specifically asked if there was anything I should be worried about and they mentioned the aftertreatment but that the one box was under recall but mentioned that the engine runs strong and it’s a good truck. Mind you I took it to a vanguard separate from the dealership selling the truck.

Did I see that the HP on that truck was suppose to be 425 and seen like 800 to 1000 HP on the Dino? Not sure that is correct Dino or did I see something wrong?

yeah they mentioned that immediately, saying that the HP was off and that i just need to divide it by 2 to get the correct number.

Then they should have run it for free. I noticed that there were no blowby readings. why?

Wait, wait, don’t tell me. The guy who said it ‘runs strong and is a good truck’ was wearing a pink shirt with plaid pants, white shoes with white belt, and his hair was slicked back?

no the dealership the trucks at didn’t try to oversell me on it at all, the place i took it to for the dyno and the pre purchase inspection is the place that told me that. It was a vanguard.
