They are rotation indicators. Sadly in the winter we actually have drivers who can’t do an S turn to check that their brakes aren’t frozen.

You can’t feel it? Even on snow and Ice I can feel a wheel dragging. That said, one time I was sitting in a parking lot and watched a guy drive by. Both tires on the back side locked up tighter than dick’s hat band. He pulled out turned right on the get on ramp and was grabbing gears. Tires squealing the whole way.

I was dumbfounded at how he didn’t know something wasn’t copacetic.

I wonder how many of those window lickers would even know how to free a locked up brake.

    Funny you mention this-
I just followed this trail of rubber and metal on asphalt scrape for 2 miles until I got to this scene where he has two tires flat on the rim

Least they don't make u tarp them. Seems like every time I get slinkies they make me tarp just to go 180 miles!

Why not? Just curious as I have never hauled those.

Back in my dry van days, before I knew anything about flatbedding, I used to pick up occasionally at Keystone in Peoria. I would pull in the yard for a quick drop & hook, and there would almost always be a long line of flatbeds picking up those slinkies. They would pull in line, get loaded, then scale out at the end of the line. The drivers would secure the loads while waiting in line. I remember being amazed at how quickly the flatbed drivers could get their loads secured, and thinking they were so much cooler than me LOL.
