You won't be getting paid, but you'll still have a job. Talk with HR about paying your portion of the health insurance. This is more common in trucking than you'd think.

Whatever family matter you're having, Swift has dealt with it hundreds of times before.

I see what you're saying. I had more of a visual of them routing him to the terminal so they could accept his resignation. I know they wouldn't want those extra costs of unemployment or having to recover the truck if they fire him. I definitely don't think they'll fire him.

You gotta learn how to work HOS. Gotta learn what you can and can't get away with. The DOT isn't stupid, they know drivers aren't going to follow HOS right down to the tee. The idea is to be smart about it. For instance when you pick up a load, who in their right mind is going to stay on line 4 for 3 hrs if thats how long it takes? You show 15 min or 30 min if you're flatbed and go to sleeper or off duty. Nothing would ever make it if drivers followed those rules to the tee.

As long as you quit the right way, you won't have anything to worry about.

Then get out of the ####ing industry you bum. Nobody is holding a gun to your head to drive trucks.. Man up and take responsibility for your choices. Life sucks sometimes . It sucks even more when you are an idiot

I’ve been earning a paycheck for 26 years following the guidelines. It hasn’t been a problem yet.
