hi guys, so we recently hired a cdl driver and have noticed some issues with his driving skills. On his cdl license it says two years of experience but when we confronted him with how many mistakes he was making, he admitted that someone altered his issue date on his license for him to make it look like two years. I called the fmcsa and the dot but they can’t even do nothing about it. I’m really surprised that they are not taking this seriously. This guy has cdl license for only 4 months now and could possibly go to another company to find a job with that altered license. How is this not endangerment to the public? I thought I was doing a good job here to report this but when I saw how they are not even taking this serious I was absolutely shocked. We found out through a friend of his that he is here illegally as well. Oh boy

    Siinman Thanks this.

Your fault for not doing a road test like the FMCSA requires you to do as part of your hiring process. It's clear you didn't perform a basic background like employment verification either. Also federally required BTW. I question your ability and qualifications to be a motor carrier in this country. The government should be looking at you with a thorough audit IMO.

Fire that driver. If you are in a ‘at will’ State, and you are an ‘at will’ employer, your covered.

Sure did. I’m 100% sure that he will go to another company and try the same ####. I’m just wondering is there anything we can do to his record?

The issues date of course. That can show you when the cdl holder got his license but I never knew it was a thing to alter it.

What do you mean? It’s not like we were paying him less but rather the years of experience he said he has.

You don’t think we went through with all the procedures above? If you don’t got any advice to give rather than being rude then move on with your ####ty piece of advice

This thread shows your full of crap. no 1, cdl shows only issue date and if you had completed a back ground check you would have caught that, no 2 you could not have given him a required drive test, No 3, what he does or does not do at the next employer is none of your business.
I think your just another troll. Go back to your cave
