About 1am, I had what looked like a red Ford Lightning blow by me in the hammer lane. Out of sight in no time. Come up to an on ramp and suddenly in the dark, blue marker lights click on as I go past. Full grown Smokey. He was sitting 90 degrees from the road and so, he backs up, and rolls forward. I get into the middle lane and slow. He flies up the right lane, crosses in front of me, shoots up the hammer lane, takes the next right exit, hits a Peelot and rolls up to the Lightning as the driver is getting out of the door. Full disco show by then.
They have to have a way of tracking cars. I was in front of him and couldn’t see the Lightning exit. I’ve been out of that game almost 40 year, and I know everything has changed, but daagum…however it is that they track cars nowadays is impressive. -

I like a low amp fuse tween me and "potential". -
I was going to use my 9" Southbend lathe to twist pickets, but decided against it. I do have a 16" lathe, with a 12' bed and two 4-jaw chucks that could be put into service if I ever got serious about doing more of this. I did some looking through some of my old drawings, looks I built this in 2012.
Cold twisting is more uniform. I've wanted to start a piece in the twister and then heat different spots, twist some more, and see what patterns come out.Friend, IH Truck Guy, cke and 9 others Thank this. -
Something like this.. And I am sure there is a lot of co op tween new cars tech and LE intercept.
AI Overview
Yes, law enforcement can track a speeding vehicle after it passes a certain point and potentially locate it even if it goes off-road. This can be achieved through various methods including GPS tracking, ALPR (Automatic License Plate Recognition) systems, and visual pursuit. However, the feasibility and effectiveness of each method depend on specific circumstances and available technology.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
1. GPS Tracking:
- If the vehicle has a GPS tracking device installed, either by law enforcement or through a third-party service (like OnStar), it can be tracked in real-time, regardless of whether it's on the road or off-road.
- However, this requires the vehicle to be equipped with the device.
- Furthermore, if the vehicle is off-road, the GPS signal might be weaker or blocked, potentially impacting tracking accuracy.
