    While it could have been tech or tracking cameras, I’d lean toward something more old school here. That red Lightning might have been known to the cop, either as a local vehicle or a driver he’s seen around before. You’d be surprised how well cops keep track of where certain cars hang out, even in today’s busy world.
    It’s also likely there was another unit up the road on the radio confirming the Lightning didn’t pass, meaning it had to have taken that exit. And if he knows the area, even without knowing the driver, he probably figured the truck would hit that Pilot, especially if there’s not much else off that exit. Sometimes it’s not high tech, just experience and a good read on patterns.

    My first propane forge was homemade. A short piece of 12" pipe, capped on one end, with some firebrick in it and a weed burner welded to the top. It worked good, just wasn't the safest set-up. My mistake was putting the torch in the top, instead of off to one side a little bit. Some of the heat went right up the pipe that connects the burner tip to the rubber hose where the valve is. After about an hour, you couldn't touch the valve with a bare hand.
