Probably not.
There’s actually specific methods for killing one humanly. Any other way is illegal. Same with lizards, armadillos and an array of other invasive species.

Unfortunately this event is nothing more than a tournament for hunters. It doesn’t actually do anything to mitigate the problem.

If there’s 100,000 of them and the hunter’s eliminated 1,000 that would not even scratch the surface. Females produce on average 35 more per cycle.

Just a fun event, nothing more.

If Florida was serious about eradicating them they would need to offer a bounty on them.

 

In years past they did offer a bounty on them. But I think it was based on the length of the snakes.
