If I have doubts after I see it I won’t either. I agree it’s less than ideal. However if I can’t be confident in the quality of the finished product…..I won’t have anyone throw good money after bad. I am on the hunt for a better suited block bare minimum

I'm also thinking he ran a lot of water through that thing and not much antifreeze so when you pull those cylinders, it could look real bad.
Definitely not telling you anything you don't know by a longshot. Just commenting.

When you have done as many as these as I have you know.

Those fire rings being gone remove all clamping force on that side of the liner which lets the liner rock and trashes the lower bores. For that piece to be gone dug into the spacer plate like that that means that #5 broke a top flange and it got hung on the spacer plate till the bottom rocked enough to crunch the piece that broke on top. So with everything moving the head and deck surface are imprinted. Also if they are rocking that bad no way the bottom isn’t either. I’m not in the business of building high dollar boat anchors

Depends on zipper length and where caught. Like @ElmerFudpucker and his ice bucket comment.
