Does anyone save there washers after loading or delivery? I guy I use to work with told me to put them in a bucket. Then take them to metal recycling center at the end of the year. Its usually $250 plus. Thats nice folding cash for something that people just throw across the delivery site.

We use the green Teflon ones and Chicago uses the white ones.
Still have a few copper ones that I'll put on a distorted face of a fill connection, but I believe we switched years ago because of the degradation and contaminants of copper especially on food and medical accounts.Friend, viper822004 and Cali kid Thank this. -
Am told even though approved. Currently customer might not need as many drivers delivering currently. So they will call me later to know if should wait until actually busyscythe08, Dennixx and viper822004 Thank this. -
So was told today. Because of weather currently customer doesn't need that many drivers servicing them. So might have to wait until later to join. Which is fine better waiting until joining now with nothing for me to do

Curious as to how this is handled at other barns. Came into work last night at 9 and Noticed damage to the passenger side steps on another tractor that I haven't driven in 2 weeks, but not the one I was taking on my trip. . Took a pic and sent it to the boss and asked If it had been there for a while and if I was an idiot for not noticing it. He replied that it had been there for a week. He didnt answer any other questions I had about it. I haven't driven the truck since June 22nd. I take video walk around post trip of every vehicle I drive and keep them for a week, so I had already deleted my file(just to give a point of reference of a possible timeline)
There were no notes on the DVIR from any of the 4 or 5 drivers(2 rarely do DVIRs) who drove it since I had and he had obviously never said anything about it via the group text we all share, so I thought he had just found it on his own as he was out walking the yard, as he had found other damage to other trucks and trailers.. Nobody hardly writes up anything wrong with the equipment, so I shouldn't have been surprised, But I was by the silence about it. What happened? Was it at a customer and is there a problem that we need to be made aware of so this doesn't happen again. Complete radio silence. So I ask on the group text "What happened to truck#00000 and provided pictures. On driver asked about the picture as she didnt understand and , then another driver pipes in what it ,"obviously is"and takes a shot a me about bringing it up. This same guy literally asked me about it while we were loading, and he was all laughs and smiles then. So we got it into an ugly text match, both on the group chat and DMs, which I'm probably going to hear about on Monday when the boss comes in. Another driver sent me a DM that he had notified the Boss about it earlier in the week and the boss never responded back to him.
When trucks and equipment get damaged, what happens at your barns? Is there safety meetings, discussions or even acknowledgment of it? I'm not looking at getting anyone in trouble. I'm looking from a safety point of view that something happened to damage a piece of equipment, and there should have been at least a notification/ discussion of , "hey guys, we had an incident on *insert date here* and we had a side step get wacked because of (insert reason here) Please watch out for(insert situation here).Cali kid, Friend, viper822004 and 2 others Thank this. -
That's only if it hasn't been noted on the cover of the vir book.
Those are 30 days of inspection when new and will have had at least 20 drivers in the unit. And if it happens near the end of the book it gets transfered to the cover of the new one.
Normal wear and tear there isn't a concern but if the damage is a hit or strike I'm covering my arsescythe08, Cali kid, Friend and 1 other person Thank this. -
Over here at AP we must notify our boss if any damage found on pre trip so they can track who the driver was and didnt report it. Its a big no no to not report damage.
We take everything serious here and need our equipment in top shape at all times or else everything will go to sh*&! -
Take pictures and send to boss man. What he does with it I could care less that’s above my responsibilities. For the most part we keep the same trucks everyday so damage is always obvious. The trailers on the other hand we do a lot of drops and hooks.
