His legs actually had to be amputated after he screwed up that plan.

No bashing intended, but a Darwin Award is for someone who kills themselves in a particularly stupid manner. A good example would be one those thrill-seeking folks who forget to secure their gear properly or at all before a bungee jump.

Well, picky, picky; he killed his legs. That should count for some lesser Darwin Award.
Anyway, he played a stupid game and got a big surprise. His buddy that tied him to the chair should be prosecuted for that action alone.buddyd157, austinmike, Deere hunter and 2 others Thank this. -

This guy presented in the video is a prime candidate for the a Darwin Award. If there is a secret office deadpool, you know this guy is on it.
"No open casket" is my favorite remark from the comments section.

not to nitpick, but as I understand, you can also win the award by rendering yourself unable to reproduce. For example, a long time ago I read that a guy was using a belt on a running machine as a ‘batin aid and it didn’t end well
.. ahh! I found it. Tho I guess it was an honorable mention, not necessarily an award winner … I’d say bonus points for the attempt to self suture with a heavy duty staple gun
