Hello folks. I'm going on my 8th week on the road with the new (used) Volvo. Everything is going well so far. Knock on wood...

So I have a loadout reefer that I'm supposed to deliver on Friday in Brookfield OH. As I was doing my dd, I noticed this sign inside. I posted the pics. Why would someone not allow consumable products in their reefer? I just delivered some big barrels of spray foam (insulation) in Denver, so the notice didn't affect me. But I'm curious as to what could be the reasons.

By the way, the state of our roads, even the interstates, are a DISGRACE. Especially in New Mexico. What a ####-show.

Possibly cuz trailer dedicated to hauling temperature sensitive toxins
Spray foam insulation I’m familiar with contains formadehyde.

I agree with @'88K100. I'm sure the normal products carried in the trailer are not compatible with things like food/produce so the sign is meant to make the decision instead of leaving the decision to some random customer or forklift driver.

, what did he say? Actually, a great idea, as who knows where that trailer has been, and at one time may have hauled sensitive cargo, if I was on a towmotor, I'd never load food in it. I read "consumable products" are not just food. Medical, office supplies, cleaning supplies, and non consumable things are like furniture or electronics. It says something about the carrier that might send a driver to pick up something with this one the inside. Paint over it, they obviously will never know, and sometimes, YOU have to take the initiative, like it used to be.

Why would he paint over it?

It's a loadout wagon he don't own & will never latch onto again in 3days..

I used to have produce drop tail loaded on way to a mine…the mine drop was resin plugs..the trailer stunk of resin fumes. Surprised me that the grocery store never made any comments on the stench of resin in trailer.
