You guys really should enjoy every minute that you're stuck at Brooks Terminal. You could get stuck at South El Monte,Ca, Auburn, Wa., or even Yolo,Ca. There is absolutely nothing to do at those yards. There's no food close by, and usually no people. I once got a run up to Auburn that my DM said..."absolutely had to get there by 5:00 pm. Well, I made the run, got to the Auburn yard. Lo and behold, the gate was closed and they hadn't given me the code to get inside. So, I called my dispatch (it was dark by now) to get it. And they gave me the wrong one. What an ordeal. The long and the short of it was the load didn't need to get out of there until the next day. I couldn't find a toilet anywhere. Glad I'm not there anymore. At May, your success depends on who your DM is. I've had 4 or 5 different ones. Jamie was the best of them that I had. Denise (no longer there) was next. But Josette was the pits. And Carole wasn't bad. She just wouldn't help you out much. Sorry to ramble on. There's just so much about May Trucking that you never know and won't be told until you get in a couple of years with them. One thing a lot of drivers don't get told is doing local vs OTR pay. You have to confront your DM about doing local (less than 200 miles) to get paid for doing the locals. They won't tell you otherwise. It took me a year to find out about it. Be warned.

i like Brooks, food across the street, nice open lot, (although last time i was there it was packed to the gills and i had to park waaaaaaaaay out in the boonies over by the training course, which is fine... if you don't need to use the restroom as bad as i did. made that long walk much longer lol) if you ever need your rig worked on at brooks, look for Tim in the Shop, he's my go-to guy for anything and everything i need done to my rig, great guy. FYI for the rookies and fellow drivers who arent aware, if you use the scale at Brooks, just add 200lbs to whatever it reads out and it will be close to accurate, it always seems to read 200lbs lighter than what i really am, actually got to go to the pilot across the street to get a scale ticket for my last load so they could fix it and it was 200lbs heavier than what the Brooks scale said. Ivan tells me "go to the Pilot across the street and scale out so you have a ticket, oh and ignore the 'NO RIGHT TURN' sign, just don't knock it over" felt interesting going out of the Brooks yard and making that right turn haha.

The only thing I like about Brooks is the wi-fi in the driver's lounge. Other than that, I avoid the place.
In fact, if I could avoid the whole state of Oregon I would. -
Why is that driver? Just curious!
