Where do you owner operators typically buy your used/new parts from? I’m looking for tie rod for a 2017 Mack pinnacle and only see one for 2k. I’ve found the RH and LH replacements parts and they’re about 500 to 600 a piece. Any help would be much appreciated.

For macks and volvos, definitely Dex Parts. Ive bought a complete engine from them as well as some fuel tanks

For new suspension parts I'd call Stengle Brothers in PA. For used parts I'd call Holst in Idaho. I would never put a used tie rod on though.

Even with my discount, they are about $600 each. I have bought Meritor and Mack, they wear the same, and that's alright. Never buy used, safety first.

The cost is a shock, but it is part of being an O/O.

$500 each for tie rod ends?!?!

I’m outa touch…That seems like utter insanity? Are they greasable?

Pretty sure I was around 4K with king pins and leaf springs in 2023 to do everything, which was all 1997 original,

then of course it was all done again last year when I was hit head on, plus the steering box and pitman arm that time.

honestly I would look at doing it all so it’s done and you only have to align it once, especially if you plan on keeping the truck

I was quoted 4k for Kingpins alone but after further inspection they’re still in good condition as is my leaf springs. I have a little wear on the outer and inner steer tire which indicates tie rod and possibly drag link. I’ll replace the tie rod, drag link and get an 3 axle alignment and go from there.
