Keep in mind with CT local job, you’ll be backing up to businesses all day, with no assistance, off of busy roads, blind side, you name it, not saying you’re not capable of the task but understand what you’re signing up for if they consider you. Having lived in Tallahassee for 3 years myself, college season is a mad house in town.

Yup, that would be my worst nightmare, blindside backing off busy roads.

Ok then. that seems just like my dedicated runs with US Xpress. I did the family dollar account and it was a LOT of unconventional backing into those stores. Some were great and others were nightmares. Especially when I went to New Orleans. Also I totally agree about the traffic in Tallahassee. It can be a madhouse depending on where you are. Especially by FSU.I did do the interview with them and they manager's face lit up when I told him I have a TWIC card.

While they aren’t a favorite in LTL. They’re a LTL company that’ll probably blow your mind with pay compared to OTR companies. You’ll make way more money than you would have OTR. The owner of the company has deep pockets so the check won’t ever bounce. LTL drivers don’t like doing dock work after a Linehaul run. You’ll work 12-14 hrs a day easy.

I was gonna suggest getting on with a LTL carrier as a dock worker with the stain on your record. Then they’ll let you transfer to driving once you’re hired and work there for a lil bit. Dock worker pays more then a lot of OTR positions and really isn’t that physical cause it’s all forklift. Get hired at a premium LTL carrier as a dock worker then transfer to become a driver then you’re set. It’s easier to get hired on as a dock worker.

I thought LTL was when you pull double? Also when you say dock worker, you're talking about the Yard drivers?

LTL means Less than Truckload. More than one shipper and/or consignees stuff in the same trailer. Some LTL carriers also run 48-53 trailers along with the sets of doubles.
