The handle with a bar with a hook at the end to pull the fifth wheel release thingy.

Really great when you are standing on ice or have to pull it out for 30 seconds or so because it is so cold.

You need something to cut metal seals. Cheap wire snippers from the truck stop will do.

All you need is your CDL, fuel card, and dental hygiene stuff.

The rest is not really necessary.

I second the flashlight. I use mine every day. Go buy one of those tool kits from harbor freight. They're like 20 bucks for everything you could possibly need, and it all comes with its own case. I bought a quality hammer because the one that came in the kit literally snapped off when I tried to use it to get a nail out of the deck. I have a glad hand tire inflator hose as well, since quite frankly finding an air line at a fuel island that actually works is a minor miracle. I also carry a bandsaw. Sometimes you need to cut down dunnage ends to make it easier to tarp. If you're not flatbedding, I can't imagine a scenario you'd need to cut anything made of wood, but when you need a saw, there's really no substitute. Like someone else said, don't bring any of that until you're on your own, it takes up too much space and weight.

I don’t know how other people operate, but I’m sure as hell not going to wait for a road call for that, tighten a loose glad hand, or maybe swap out a 7-way connector. There’s only so much stupid I’m going to tolerate, and that is too much.

lol I ended up tearing the connectors apart on a lowboy early on and fixed the broken air line nipples and put a new 7pin on the frame. Mistakes get made, but not everybody can be trusted with a screwdriver. The mega hire the lowest tier and their not trying to gamble with who's competent or not.

People can be trusted with 80K lbs worth of truck, but not a screwdriver? o_O

There is something seriously wrong with that picture.
