I went into their training program many years ago when they still had Centuries with manual transmissions and from what I understand not much has changed. They would put anywhere from 3 to 5 students to a truck in training (even going down the road). They would just find a shoulder or somewhere to pull over so the next student could take over. They had military barracks style housing complete with bunk beds and lockers at their West Valley City location. I'd come in after a long day of training only to find all of my belongings had been moved to the security post downstairs. Then they'd have to put me in a hotel because they ran out of room in their "dorm rooms." One of the students backed into a fence while no one was watching. Nobody claimed responsibility so they made some random person fess up and sent them home. Training finished and we were told we had two options. Do a lease purchase or drive teams. There was no option to go solo as a company driver if you were a new driver. That might have changed. Pay was (and still is) extremely low for a reefer company compared to other refrigerated motor carriers. I saw dry van companies paying way more which I thought was odd. It was a place to start to get both trucking and reefer experience but it didn't seem to be a good place to stay long term

 

C. R. England sucks so bad I had to move back in with my parents and file for bankruptcy. They only make the training good and thorough so you are less likely to get in a collision. They pay as little money as humanly possible. Their lease is a scam.

 

The fact that you had to move in with your parents and file bankruptcy has absolutely nothing to do with CR England........it's all on you, hoss. I'm no cheerleader for CRE, but if you can't manage your money, it's YOUR fault. Grow up.
