Im doing rather good. Mentally I have people from the Mayo Clinic dealing with me. My wife is a trooper. I’m so thankful for the love and support from family, friends and folks I’ve never met. I have great support which is very comforting. Thank you so much for asking.austinmike, 4mer trucker, High Stepper and 12 others Thank this.

Hey everyone. Just thought I’d stop by and say hello. The wife and I are on our way up to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville for 2 days of follow up and to get these staples removed. Recovery is going good, slow but good. I have physical therapy everyday to get my balance and equilibrium back in order. Hope you all are doing great. Talk soon.

Are you driving yet? Eating normally, sleeping normally ? Any pain ? Good to hear good news !
4mer trucker, MACK E-6, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
Not allowed to drive yet. Another couple a weeks for that. Never lost my appetite. Although my sense of taste has changed. Not sleeping normally yet. The area of the surgery is still numb. That is getting better day by day. Just got done with my first appointment with my lead surgeon. All my lingering issues are normal and getting better. Tomorrow I have my sutures removed. I am scheduled for a follow up MRI in 3 weeks.
On a side note, my tab at The Mayo Clinic has reached $425,000. Of which, after meeting my deductible of $6,000, I owe nothing. We are so grateful and thankful that we took care of our insurance just for this. Turning 69 made us rethink our medical coverage. Plus I took out 2 separate Aflac policies that already paid me $15,000. Plus my first disability check of $1500 per week was deposited last Friday. My short term disability will end at the end of October.
Though I wouldn’t wish this on anyone, I’m so grateful for all my family, friends and my TTR family for all their support. Right now, you can knock me over with a feather.austinmike, 4mer trucker, BFL123 and 15 others Thank this. -
Still got prayers going up for you, glad to see your on the road to being in good health again.
