Knowing your limitations and admitting them can be a couple different things

Here’s a closer look at those clamps.

You can see how they overlap inside for a perfect seal, the two ridges add bite to the boot, and the corrugation on the outside is what keeps tension constant.

I’ve been “Dumb enough to take it apart, crazy enough to think I can fix it, and smart enough to hide the left over pieces” before. :biggrin_25523:

A man must exceed his limitations every once in a while or you just don’t really know where the edge is.

Well, give a little thought to putting a water pump on the typical cushion tired gas warehouse forklift...
Can wrestle it out or pull the counterweight, the radiator, fan, and whatever LP stuff is on top, then it's multiple spout connections

Power shift trans in a typical Clark 4/5000 cushion tired. Can either take off the forks, remove the upright, pull off the differential, separate from the engine, work it out from up under and to a clear place to start working on it.
    OR.. Go the other way..
Pull the counterweight, the radiator, the engine. (lay aside hyd and LP stuff), then separate from the differential, and work it back and up/out to a clear place to start working on it.

@homeskillet might describe the difference in working on an in bus engine at waist level as opposed to a forklift at jackknifed over.
One of my partners worked at Truck Center in Tupelo before forklifts.. He would block one up on 8 x 8's to get it tall enough to change plugs....
New forklift help don't straighten up for the first 2 weeks worked...

Writing on the back of that notepad works better. Doesn’t wear off as quick. :D

Is that the one that had the coolant leak the other day? Seems there was a small de-aeration line behind / below the precooler that would split and seep and make life miserable for a bit.

By axles a guy could gross 92k, so loading to 80k it would be hard to be over on an axle. Also a lot less off-track than a semi. Other than the cool factor that's my guess as to the advantages.

I'm not sure I would care for a set of doubles in the winter.
