    They didn’t offer the $15K..

    Republic ONLY OFFERED $3K..

Then she should've countered their initial offer with the adjuster's written appraisal. But no, she's invoking all kinds of irrelevant, dramatic BS to try and taint potential jurors' opinions in her favor.

The issue haven’t even reached a courtroom yet. When it’s said and done Republic tried to lowball, and they don’t have the best reputation! They had a 28 day deadline to respond but they failed to do so.
BTW, the truck owner released a follow up statement.

That's exactly the dramatic, irrelevant BS I referenced in my last message. The fact that a water main broke under her street is totally and completely irrelevant to this case, and so is the fact that her grandfather helped her buy the truck. The only thing that is relevant is that Republic's driver was negligent in his operation of the garbage truck therefore Republic owes her a replacement of equivalent value.

There is no circumstance in which the damage to that truck or the replacement cost thereof, combined with a reasonable amount of money to cover her costs while she was without a vehicle, adds up to even a fraction of $3M.

If they put that kid on the stand to testify it could possibly sway a jury.

3 million is excessive but the fact that Republic is ignoring their screwup doesn’t put them in a positive light either.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Just for s**** and giggles I walked through a Ford dealer lot on my way to Jersey Mike’s to get something for dinner. Saw a few F150 Super Cab 4x4 pick ups similar to the lady’s pickup truck. Based on the equipment that they have. Saw the truck sticker for $48-$49K.
Me personally, I wouldn’t pay $48K, for no pickup truck. Anything over $40K is asinine.

She should have countered with maybe 5 times the value. An insurance company is never going to pay the first number you throw at them.
