I don’t agree with your statement that every employer that’s gotten ahead in life has taken advantage of all their employees. If people feel taken advantage of they’re free to move on. It’s up to each person to decide if they’re being compensated properly for the time they put in.

Unfortunately in trucking the wages are similar across the board unless you choose to specialize in something. Dragging a box down the road is one of the easiest things to do, and the wages and rates reflect that. The majority of the industry is cost driven. What are you providing with your reefer for $4 that they can’t get done for half of that right now?

Do people get taken advantage of? Absolutely. But you also have to look at the caliber of driver that the second tier companies employ. Usually there are factors that prevent them from working for a reputable company.

Most of the issues can be traced back to deregulation. It’s too easy to get authority. The influx of Covid money didn’t do anything to help the current state of the industry either. People had cash to get equipment and chase the spot market money. Now those same people are running for less than their operating cost just trying to keep their trucks and have a paycheck for their drivers.

 

When one man takes advantage of another man to profit or gain a better standard of living, that is called capitalism. When the exact opposite happens, that is communism. This is quite simple.

 

That is not what either capitalism or communism is.

And I know some folks that have lived (and survived) through communist rule.
Specifically in Venezuela and Romania.

 

I believe we are dealing with someone who doesn't have valid arguments. you should educate yourself and bring ideas to help all of us, but you choose to attack race , cultures , race . that is very ignorant and lazy of your part.
