How much water should you drink daily for healthy kidneys?
~
Herbal teas, low-sugar juices, and even decaffeinated coffee contribute to daily hydration. Despite common belief, moderate amounts of caffeinated beverages like coffee and tea can also count toward total fluid intake, according to a 2016 study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

For us Gringos that haven't embraced the metric system yet,,that's about 6-8 glasses, typically, 8 ounces of water, and still a lot. I told the nurse, I just can't drink that much water, and then don't forget, you have to pee most of that out, and if you're older, like me, with reduced flow, it can be a problem. THEN, you have to worry about water quality, and bottled water, that comes from the tap anyway, gets mighty pricey. I do have a 20 oz. refillable water bottle I refill maybe once a day,, and use a PUR water tap filter, and works well, but I think the water consumption thing is overstated.

I drink over a gallon a day. I can hold it for a long time. Yeah I know that's not good but meh for now. I know I'll pay for it later.

I'm way into water now. Seriously, I should have listened to people a long time ago. I'm also way into electrolytes because of advice from people right here.
