Which direction closes this heater hose valve?

First of all, I have no picture but it’s one of those 1/4 turn brass shutoff valves. It’s located at the thermostat housing on a N14. The little lever is basically 10:00-2:00, in the direction it can turn. Which way, is “Off” or no flow.

    10 I believe...
Off is when the shut off is not aligned with the valve.
Should be another on the back right side of block..
Most that I have seen also have a shut off to the sleeper and front heater..

Concorde and mile marker 27 Thank this.

There is. That valve is one that rotates fully and I believe clockwise, closes it.

All the N14 powered (Fld120) trucks I had. They had shutoffs for the dash heater and the bunk heater. Total of 4 shutoffs.

As mentioned above. The 1/4 turn shutoffs. Handle turned parallel with hose is "ON".
The valve that rotates fully. Clockwise is "OFF"

Here’s the 1/4 turn valve. Is this the off or on, position?

That is on as the valve (small rod) is in line with the hose. Off would be if it was turned to be in the position that the red mark is. I think of it as if the yellow lines up then it allows flow. If in the red position then flow is blocked, the red is perpendicular to the yellow.

I’ve got it turned as suggested but I had it in that position before, with the rear valve turned clockwise, until tight but the heater hose is still leaking. The heater hose that’s leaking, is the one attached to the rear valve. Is there a direction of flow?

Are you saying that the hose is between the 2 valves in your pictures? Where do the other ends of the hose in your pics go to? Hose may still leak as there is fluid in it even if the valve is shut off.
You could pinch off the hose and remove it and put a plug in the end. Then check to see if the valve leaks. NO guarantee that it is completely stopping flow even in the off position. You can do this with either valve. The valve can also be taken apart by removing the piece marked with the red x which is threaded into the valve.

You only have 2 valves, not 4, correct?

As @JB7 mentioned, you'll still have fluid in the hoses when shut off, and those valves don't always seal 100%
