Wouldn't ya know. Swifts once in a few thousand crashes where their truck is in the frame of the shot to smile and say, nope, wasn't us this time.
Studebaker Hawk Thanks this. -
Photos like these are why I just refused a load of em. No company could pay me enough to do itFlat Earth Trucker Thanks this.

I saw that just last week. This a Kenworth W9 pulling a chip trailer taking a right to go my way. The answer became clear once I got next to him and saw the town on the door was in the Washington metro area.
Yup, that pretty much explains it.
Sapphire_Glitter and Deere hunter Thank this. -
Or he could have done this. Tandems all the way back. Concentrated load.
mjd4277, FullMetalJacket and MACK E-6 Thank this. -
The problem in the photos wasn't the paper rolls, it was a careless driver who thinks he must speed anywhere and everywhere he goes. These types of drivers have difficulty enough simply pulling empties.Sapphire_Glitter, 201, Thrasher28 and 3 others Thank this.

Back in the 1990's the company I work for hauled #45000 single coils out of Inland Steel to Houston, TX on flatbeds. The rolls of paper are not that bad.
Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
Ten dash four, I hauled a LOT of paper rolls, and I mean a LOT. Both ways, to the rail from N. Wis., and picked up rolls from on the rail. Many on containers that had no sliders, and I don't ever recall having a problem, aside from those pesky chicken coops.
Flat Earth Trucker and Studebaker Hawk Thank this.
