That is the first I ever heard of a fleet owner charging drivers for truck rental . No wonder you didn't make any money . $2400 a month for a straight truck ?
-
You paid rent to a fleet owner?

You should have continued looking for a fleet owner.
There are times that you will sit for periods of time in expediting. But January was pretty bad and February is not much better. -
i worked for panther the problem is too many trucks and not enough work for them

I run a cargo van as a team with Panther. There is no logging per DOT. However; if your a solo they require only 16 hrs on duty then you must take a 5 hr break. Honestly...Im looking to leave Panther because it seems like there is no freight to haul. I and a lot of the other drivers feel that they are giving the loads away so that they make more money on the load and dont seem to give a #### about any of there O/O's. Its your choice if you want to work here or not. My son works at McDonald's and is bringing in more revenue in a money than my truck! I would stay away if I where you. P.S....He only works part-time

I'm glade I read this info,I'm in talks with them but now I think i'll take another route.

As a follow up to my 12-30 post I am no longer employed at Panther. And I am having problems getting paid all I am owed on my final settlement. I will be more forthcoming once it all shakes out. Stay tuned.

panther big trucks if on dod (government) loads make over $2.00 per mile when you include the fuel surcharge every load is a negotiation and there is no forced dispatch you make the same money as other companies with a lot less miles on your truck and you.Starting rate is 1.40 a mile without hazmat plus fuel surcharge and they do pay deadhead and other extras as well.
