How many of you guys have heard of Federal Carrier Compliance Registration, or FCCR for short? They're a 3rd party company that does all your compliance and registers you with the clearinghouse and such.
I recently had a bad experience with them and was curious if anyone else had. In particular, I'm looking to get a refund out of these guys and wondering if anyone else has had to do so.

My rule is simple, if it has federal or compliance in the name, I won’t even bother with them.

Yeah... Lesson learned the hard way. The jerks called me on the morning of the 4th of July and all I saw was "Federal" and "Compliance" and just assumed that they were the FMCSA or the DOT. After some after-the-fact research, discovered what they really were but by then it was too late. Emailed and called them to disregard my billing info and that I don't need their services. Two days later they billed me anyway and I'm in the middle of trying to get the charges reversed.
What gets me is that they have a 4.7 star rating on Google. If they're so great, I don't understand why they won't work with a guy over a pretty cut & dry refund.
Just looking for anyone who may have had some luck getting refunds from these crooks and how they did it.Last edited: Aug 7, 2025

Try a chargeback with your credit card company. Tell them the company misrepresented themselves.

That's what I'm in the middle of right now. I'm sure they'll be able to fix it because I have documentation of explicitly refusing their services and to disregard my billing information, I just don't know how long it'll take. I stupidly let these guys keep stringing me along that they would process the return and I should be seeing it "any day now", so this saga has drug on for about a month. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, although I'm not sure how much good it really does. Hard lesson learned to trust absolutely nobody.

Call your bank/credit card and initiate a charge back. Don’t give them another minute of your time, let your bank handle it.
These scum-bags try making their business name look official to dupe the gullible.
FWIW, all the compliance stuff is really easy to do yourself..just ask if you need some guidance. It looks overwhelming to someone just starting out but seriously it’s ridiculously easy to do yourself.
When I was getting setup I did use Foley for my drivers file because I was nervous about doing it myself. Once I saw everything Foley did I understood how easy it was to do. I ended up canceling with them afterwards and they didn’t give me any problems.The_SnowMan710 Thanks this. -
Correct, if they have that in their name they are trying to pass themselves off as an official government agency.The_SnowMan710 Thanks this.

Outfits like this give the legitimate compliance consultants, like me, a really bad name. They use scare tactics and deception to get your business, and worse yet, information.
I don't want to scare you, however, with all the stolen carrier identify issues lately some of these "compliance services" are not providing any service at all. Instead, they use the sales pitch to get legitimate motor carriers to give them FMCSA Portal information, email addresses, login credentials, copy of identification, etc., then they use it to steal the identity of the motor carrier and then scam brokers out of loads. I'm not saying that is what has happened here, however, you should keep an eye on your US DOT registration for any updates to your address, email or phone number of record, just in case they were being more than a scummy sales company and did intend to steal your motor carrier access information.D.Tibbitt, The_SnowMan710, kemosabi49 and 1 other person Thank this. -
That's something that has made me paranoid and I do keep a close eye on such things, for sure. From what I've read about these guy that I'm having trouble with, they're more in it for the money then not following through. There's a lot of good reviews for them but who knows in this day and age. Bad companies make fake accounts then give themselves 5 star ratings all the time. Integrity and honesty are a foreign thing anymore.

Follow-up for those who may want to know... As of two days ago, my bank was finally able to come through for me and retrieve my money back from these crooks. My banker said that it was difficult because I sat on it for too long which complicated things. I sat on it because I trusted these jerks to come through with a refund that they kept promising. Like I said in a previous post, lesson learned to trust no one. Thankfully, I have been with my bank since before I had a driver's license and they're willing to fight for guys like me. It's good to have people in your corner!
FCCR did reply to my BBB complaint that I filed and, in a nutshell, they told me to pound sand. They even went so far as to say that they were going to give me a refund but since I had over reacted by filing a complaint, they were not likely to do so anymore. Man, the nerve of these people!
Anyway, things turned out well for me in the long run on this one but I'm sure there's plenty of people that aren't so lucky. Word to the wise, make 300% sure of who you're giving your billing information to and TRUST NO ONE!
Have a good weekend, friends!D.Tibbitt, buzzarddriver, brian991219 and 1 other person Thank this.
