Munoz -- they won't pay you anything close to what you're worth.

Crete -- there, you're just a number on a list.

    Step it up, Driver. o_O

OTR carriers that actually have some respect for the driver:
    • Fremont Contract Carriers
    • Climate Express
    • American Central Transport
    • Transland

That is not true I work for Crete...I actually know my asset manager by name and he knows me ... always making sure I'm clear on loads and getting me good miles.....I never sit unless for a 34...I'm always preplanned as well because Crete has a large network of customers.....I doubt Munoz has that same network....

    Thank you for your feedback.

    A satisfied driver.....wow!

You are indeed a rare breed.

Some questions for you about Crete:
    • Where are Crete terminals/dropyards (if any) in west Texas?
    • What fuel solutions do you have? Pilot/Flying J? Love's? T-A/Petro? Somewhere else?
    • What is their hometime policy? One day for each week out? Or more? If more -- please specify....
    • What tractor brands are available?
    • Average miles per week?

I can speak they do have a terminal yard in EL Paso.... We fuel at flying j, loves, ta/Petro and road ranger

Hometime is 1 day for every 6 days on the road there are different accounts and regional available and dedicated for Walmart in some areas..... freightliner and kw t680 tractors....

I get between 2300 to 3000 miles per week.... very consistent actually.....

Crete has no terminal in El Paso. Only TX terminal is Wilmer. Don't know of any drop yard in EP, but i may be mistaken. Only drop yard i know of is in Houston. Where is the EP drop yard?

I live in El Paso part time and Buffalo Texas part time because of my elderly parents.

Crete told me that when I'm in El Paso, I would take my truck home because they don't have an EP terminal- but when in Buffalo, I would have to park it at the Wilmer terminal.

Crete also will allow me to take my home time at either place (EP or Dallas) and that I can stack my home time days up to 30 days- though not sure how true that is lol.

I'm just hesitant to go with another mega carrier again- I've been with Danny Herman, Pam Transport and JB Hunt- so the mega's come with a whole lot of extra garbage that I really don't want to deal with again- which is why Munoz is even on the table as an option for me (low pay and all).

Who do you think sounds better? Whichever company you think fits your needs better is where you need to go. If its Munoz you choose, don't worry about the low cpm. If you do a good job, that'll increase as you gain experience. If it's Crete it seems they can meet your needs as well. I personally prefer smaller companies with mega abilities if that makes sense. Hiw come you’ve soured on megas? I'm only curious.

Danny Herman wouldn't let me go solo- great training company but my teammate was terrible- so I left there.
JB Hunt was honestly not too bad- but I was on an ag account hauling livestock. So it was a mega but not- I only quit there because it was too physically demanding for me- I had to panel my trailer with 40 panels, 3 times a night in the freezing cold. Lol I just couldn't handle it.
Pam Transport is the mega that completely crushed it for me- every week I was in the shop with a trailer having to get repaired. So I would lose valuable mileage and not get paid anything for it- the loads would be taken off of me and replaced with a trash load, all because of poor upkeep on their equipment- and there's too many drivers who don't care about the next guy- a few times I would have to move 5 different trailers, just to get to my loaded trailer- just super unorganized and zero respect or care for their drivers.
This is why I'm very hesitant to go with another mega.. sometimes they get so big, they can't keep up with routine maintenance. And too many careless lazy drivers. My last paycheck with them over Christmas week was 207$!!! That was that for me. I left and didn't look back.
I'm honestly thinking Munoz is the way to go for me. Lower pay but they'll let me run the way I want. I like running my clock down- I don't like recaps- And it will be nice to have more family time- but I won't be able to see my parents as much.. it's a tough decision but I need to think about my career longevity- the next company I choose needs to be my home for awhile- no more job hopping.

    bryan21384 and Lonesome Thank this.
