Poor choices generally equal poor results.

    And vice versa.

None of the carriers I listed above are "megas".

For what it's worth: they each have a good reputation with their drivers.

Also: here's a decent video review on Crete:

Thank you for sharing :) definitely something to think about-
I absolutely love trucking- it's soul healing for me lol sounds weird but it's the truth. That's why I'm really wanting to be very careful with my next move- bad companies/owners can really crush your spirit and love for the job-
I'm going to look into the other companies you posted above too. I greatly appreciate your feedback. Thank you again :)

As a longstanding employee of Climate Express, I appreciate you giving us a shout out and recommendation. I don’t think going to Crete or Munoz is necessarily a poor choice if it fits the driver and makes them happy. The thing that stood out most in this video for me was his communication. Unlike most drivers, he conversed as opposed to confront about his hometime. He keeps and open mind and is adaptable. The lack of adaptability, in my mind is why drivers struggle to become effective employees at these companies. He takes the fuel solutions in stride because he can see the bigger picture, which is the profit sharing. Many drivers take for granted that it takes a lot of money to for these companies to function so anyway a driver can contribute to minimizing costs is paramount. Its too many drivers that want to be renegades, do what they want, and never do things how the company wants it and thats why they can't stick anywhere. Real good video, and he's definitely a pro.

Hey if Munoz is the way to go, go for it!!! You've got my support for what it's worth. You know yourself, and if you think that's your path, follow it. Don't worry about what others say. At the end of the day, you got a job, and I can understand wanting to go with smaller companies. Besides they're in El Paso. You'll probably get loads that have serious miles to them all the time because of where they start. I see them all over the place. I think you'll do fine there. I can't wait to see how your journey unfolds because the forum could use perspectives from drivers at these under the radar companies in my opinion.

Munoz: Anyone know where this place is? I've made deliveries there.
First photo didn't show; this one is ok. Caves in Missouri.

Oh yikes! Those caves scare me  I've seen videos about them before...
I'm honestly nervous all around about going back to dry van- I've been hauling grain and fertilizer in hopper bottom trailers and I LOVE LOVE that type of freight- but to get on with a hopper bottom company, it's difficult. H&M requires 2 years- same as Oakley- So I need to build up my experience OTR before I can get on with either of those places- Munoz trucking is out of El Paso Tx or Horizon, TX actually I think. They do dry van and reefer. I've never pulled reefer trailers before- so I'm actually super nervous about this transition, but I love trucking and need to progress my career.

No big deal switching from dry van to reefers. Set the thermostat on the front of the trailer and you're good to go. If you can set the thermostat in your house, you can set the one on a trailer. Don't let the negative drivers scare you about reefers.
I notice on the website, Munoz gets some loads from CH Robinson. If that's so, you'll stay busy and keep the wheels turning.
