Update on that Illegal Alien driver doing a U turn on the highway: California lied, and is clueless that it is the state that issues a CDL, not the federal government, which shows how incompetent Newscum is: He gets slapped down by fact checkers:...and that driver tried to run back to California thinking he'd be safe...nope, he's being extradited. He must think states are countries. Idiot.

California knows very well what is doing, and it's not the only state giving CDL's to illegals. Florida and Texas are not far behind.
This is well organized attack on the industry, and they don't care how many people will die and how many americans will lose their jobs.

Why in the hell would somebody tie up the rest of their day for only $50? o_O

One doesn’t need to be a owner/op, or a mathematician, to know that would be incredibly stupid.

That was an exaggeration, I shouldn't have used those unrealistic numbers as an example. I was trying to make the point that I would rather work more hours for less per mile than have a low income for the year by running those really short loads that pay good per mile but take up an entire day. Im at 2.34 on all miles so I am clearly not running those 2000 mile loads for $2 a mile. You guys are just responding to the poor choice of numbers I used so that was my bad.

I have to book loads as if its the only load i can do in a day. Im surprised hearing that you guys can do multiple loads in a day. I think its one out of 50 loads that I have a shipper/rec that is open past 3pm. (edit: another exaggeration that might get me in trouble, but you know what I mean)

I haul mostly load board freight. I've been at it for 6 years now. I do have some customers with infrequent freight. They pay better than load board freight, but it all averages out to what I make running tee boards since I have to take a backhaul to them that I would not normally take with added deadhead. The market pays what the market pays. I never said it was unfair. I can demand all I want, but then I wont be given any work. I could get into more things I've tried, but I am going to pass, it will probably just lead to more insults.

    instead of hypotheticals-
If you’re booking one load a day with daylight customer hours- what are you maintaining as daily minimum revenue?

A little of topic. I have been driving for 11 years now, 10 with my own MC, never went around the scales and finally got my first Level 1 today. Only had 2 and 3 before. Even got a sticker on windshield
How common is to go that many years without a level 1?

I haven't had a level 1 in about 8 years, haven't had as much as an eyebrow raise at a scale since running my own numbers for the past 2. Here I was thinking they'd be banging on my door in the first few months to go through my nsc files and rip through my equipment haha. I did get chased down by dot the other week though for no insurance after I cruised by a guy sitting at the "fishing spot" in that town. Turns out he punched in the wrong plate number as I went by... "Nice truck. Sorry to bother you, have a good day" meanwhile, the inside of my conestoga was mayhem with loose dunnage and #### all over the place. I was quite relieved he didnt want to see what was in inside :D
