Helwig driver catches thieves breaking into his trailer in Philly

This happening more and more and they bring lock cutters etc….Thieves don’t realize we can actually feel the slightest movement when someone’s on your trailer. Even someone just walking around back there you can tell. I’m a fairly light sleeper too. If someone’s messing with my trailer I’m gonna wake up. Question is, is your freight worth potentially getting shot? Me? I guarantee you I’m gonna run back there because I can’t stand in this kind of crap.

Yup ive been seeing more and more of this. They just cut the locks on a truck and take whatever. Computers, copper scrap, cleaning supplies, meat, condoms, sex toys. Doesnt matter, if it fits in a pickup and can be resold, its gone. Had a friend of mine show me video of his coworker where a few thugs with a pickup and some shotguns show up and rob his truck blind of iron pigs up near chicago. Apprently he showed up at 10pm for a 6am delivery and decided to just park in the little lot they have for trucks to overnight in. Police showed up almost two hours after they crossloaded something like $2,000 in ingots.

(For those who dont know, iron pigs are esentially raw iron ingots)

That said i personally mostly haul very low value scrap, rocks, feed, fertalizer and dirt so nothing worth throwing my life away for. Though if they try to break into my rig they are going to get a 95 grain suprise delivered express and followed up by a 380 grain suprise if they dont apprecate the smaller donation.
