Sounds like you pissed somebody off. But if you're running good other than those times then it's just paying your dues. You said you've been at Holland a little over a year so you haven't been there that long yet. I don't know why I'm defending this company that I don't work for, guess I got nothing better to do while I'm sitting on the toilet![]()

Is there more than one Holland? Seems I've seen one that is red and white and another that is blue and orange.
It took me a while to figure out that there are two Oakleys and they're completely different.IWX6279 Thanks this. -
Update:
Picking up Henderson, CO @0800 8/22/25
Delivering Rochelle, IL @0730 8/24/25
16 empty miles including 913 loaded
First load I’ve done under 1k miles in months. This load will get me back to Holland’s primary running lanes.bryan21384, Speed_Drums, wulfman75 and 4 others Thank this. -
Sorry for the delay posting.
After my last load that i delivered in Rochelle, IL, I picked up in Broadview, IL going to Sumner, WA 8/25/2025 @0630
Empty Miles 64 Loaded 649 ( Actual final 2029 mileage)
However, I had a VA appointment in Fargo, August 27th. So, operations had me drop that Sumner, Wa load at the terminal in Mapleton so another driver could make on time delivery on 8/29 @ 1100.
Also, having actual home time in the Richmond VA, area on 09/03, operations then had me take a load that was on the yard ironically going to Sumner, WA and meet another driver in Beach, ND in 08/27 at 1400 at the Flying J.
That driver then gave me his load that came out of Burbank, WA, going to Ashland, VA for a 0700 delivery on 09/02. loaded miles to Beach, ND were 337 miles and the loaded miles for Ashland, VA are 1,770. As you can see Holland will work with drivers to meet their obligations.
After I empty out I’ll just head home. I’ll be on hometime until 09/15. So if there is another delay posting that’s why. When I head back out I’ll post my load coming off of hometime.
Stay safe out there.Speed_Drums, Northern Nomad, Gomer1969 and 6 others Thank this. -
Are you able to park for 10 hour break at your Shippers/Receivers, how often do you have to drive all night?
IWX6279 Thanks this. -
I would say 60-65% of our customers allow us to take our breaks on their property . However, I’ve never had a customer say no when asked if I can take my 10.
Keep in mind this is my experience — others may differ.
I very seldom drive at night. I typically drive 1000-1800/1900 each day. Most deliveries are between 0600 and 1100. Yes, you’ll get a few early morning deliveries — 0200-0500 — however, for a refrigerated carrier these aren’t the norm. Again, in my experience.Last edited: Sep 4, 2025

Also, I failed to mention, as an OTR carrier, at Holland, you’ll see the same customers quite often. It’s not like other OTR outfits. Where you may never see that customer again, or if you do, it’s months or even years before you’re back there.
I see them same customers all the time. 99% of them are happy to see us. Not embellishing this fact.
Myself, I enjoy going to the same customers. You know what their processes are and how to get to them. Plus I tend to find that the customers “lighten up” when then start to see you a lot. In other words, they seem to be more personable when they know they’ll see you more than the one off carrier that comes in once and they’ll likely never see again.bryan21384, Gearjammin' Penguin, hotrod1653 and 5 others Thank this. -
Yesss! It’s awesome building Relationships with the Customers and makes it enjoyable going to the same facilitiesbryan21384, IWX6279 and kylefitzy Thank this.
