Roehl Transport only if you can get into their flatbed fleet, if you have a willingness to do flatbed work and if you do switch to their curtainside fleet as soon as possible after your initial training is completed.

Lots of NC drivers went to Magnum right out of cdl school and haven't read any complaints at all.
I'd put the refrigerated companies first, followed by flatbed then dry van last.

Reefer may be a good place to start because there is ALWAYS going to be freight no matter where you are in the country and most reefer companies are hard up to get drivers on board. If you are a new driver it is good to cut your teeth doing reefer work because you'll get the full experience of many of the frustrations that the trucking industry has to offer out of the way early in your career.

I personally think that flatbed would be better just because you'll get a lot of similar experiences but you'll also be able to learn and develop unique skills and knowledge doing flatbed work that you would never obtain otherwise if you did not do it. It is not easy but I think it is worth it for future considerations.

Question about Magnum, officially I'm a recent graduate from trucking school. So I have no recent experience. But technically, I'm a former cdl driver from 1997-2005. Surrendered license in 2005. Will I be required to be with trainer for 4 weeks, or will I get my own truck sooner if trainer sees I already have prior experience?

allright after everything that could happen did happen, I'm finally finished with school. Chinatown, if you could help me or guide me in a good direction for jobs I'd be grateful. the recruiters that came to the school are Stevens, Schneider, McElroy. I'm mostly interested if flatbed, at least I think I am. Thanks
