It’s a really tough time to get in this business now. 3/4 of a million drivers looking for work country wide. I would look at construction companies, maybe you can get in doing snow removal this winter.

Maybe try canbec, they do a lot of snow removal contracts for the city. If you can go and see them at the office and ask about work, they have a lot of equipment on the go. If winter worked out would probably keep you on. A lot of dump trucks for them in the summer.

Open an account on Indeed. This works for many drivers.
Lots of American drivers find jobs on Craigslist and Facebook and Redditt. All have trucker pages.

Go knock on doors at companies, resume in hand. Never hurts snd a few times I have been successful this way.

Dump trucks as mentioned above, check with all the local municipalities, they have lots of trucks, road/highway maintenance companies, depending on your circumstances logging trucks however that would probably require working in a location more north of Montreal. Fly in fly out jobs at some of the mines maybe?

it’s the worst i’ve seen in my 17 years as a driver in this industry , no one is hiring even highly experienced vets like myself never mind newbies . My first question to you is what truck driving school did you use to get your license. I hope you did your research before hand and didn’t just pick any school . The big companies only hire from very reputable truck driving schools . That’s a very important step especially right now with so many drivers looking for work but no one is hiring . companies can cherry pick who they want and even very experienced drivers aren’t finding jobs

we have one guy on this fourm who lost his Amazon driving gig and now is driving for uber because he can’t find work . only advice anyone can give you is apply to everyone and hope someone bites and contacts you . it’s not going to be easy that’s for sure
