I can’t see anyone at the Hillsboro, OR plant making close to 150k. Mid $30’s an hour and not much work from what it seems like

Hydrogen teams are 200k plus easy and most of our local guys in California would be past 150k no problem. Also if you got into “APEX”/“nitrogen services” I could see that happening.viper822004 Thanks this.

That checks out. Personally I'd rather work 50 hours a week and gross between 115-120k. Regional guys at my company can easily hit 160-180k but my days of endless 6 day work weeks are over. Did that for 2 years and im burnt out.viper822004, scythe08 and Cali kid Thank this.

I run 46 to 48 weeks per year on rest and roll. Depending on what terminal a driver is out of. And the demand for the product. And also if there aren't enough drivers doing that type of work. This all helps determine if I gross more ore less.
But along with that I don't complain. If they need me to run in the middle of a polar vortex winter storm. My reply is send me the route and I'm there dude. What ever they come up with I don't complain about $#!+. So I became a reliable driver they can go to.
But for example there a guy that is always bickering about this and that. He only gets 3 or 4 days of work. And he only makes 5 figures p/yr. Its his fault that there's money left on the table. And I politely go and clean his portion off to put in my pocket. I never seen such a person that comes in complaining and leaves complaining about he's not making enough. But he still keeps coming back to the job after 2yrs & 2 months.
But making over 110k isn't about what you can afford. Its more about loading up your 401k. Making enough to where you can afford to live normal and investing is the key. Because if you don't, then the taxes taken out will have you saying I make $$$ on paper but I dont bring home jack $#!+viper822004, Gearjammin' Penguin, scythe08 and 1 other person Thank this. -
We have guys hitting $160K but that's on LH2 team. I don't think anybody is gonna be over $120K on ASU where I'm at. At one smaller terminals guys are lucky to hit $100K.
That's why I was asking, if I could do $150K and be not teaming, I would be there in a heartbeat.
Seems Cryo in the southeast is underpaid.viper822004, scythe08, lual and 1 other person Thank this. -
I forgot about the roll and rest drivers. We had them when I was at AP and they did make some great money.viper822004 and scythe08 Thank this.

We're up to $38.40 not including the $50 per night shift bonus, which averages another $5 an hour. The top guys who are running in the mornings can make that, partially because they deal with traffic so much. As of right now, as the lowest guy on the totem pole, , I'm sitting at hair over 95k and I've only had a handful of days over 60 hours and I've never worked an extra day since I have started. I should end up around 120k-130k. For my first year only loading one product, I'm not going to complain. I'm not sure if anone here has made 150k yet. Some might be close this year with the pay bump and the hours that the morning guys run withdealing with traffic.Last edited: Sep 10, 2025
