I was just wondering, cause I haven't driven in snow before so I don't know.

    Cool.

Usually you can go a good little clip as long as you don't break traction or need to stop or turn. That's why when it starts snowing or icing up there's 2 stages: a bunch of folks don't slow down and continue at a brisk pace while commenting on how the roads aren't that bad since they know how to drive in this stuff and then someone wipes out or gives themselves a scare and everyone jams on the brakes and discovers a) the road is in fact pretty slick and b) maybe they aren't quite Mario Andretti On Ice and then most everyone slows down.
So remember it's always fine until it isn't.

The first time you break traction on snow or ice and your pooper sucks up the seat so tight that it will take a few days to remove, you’ll never forget that feeling. It’ll be in your memory bank many years from now. The first time I was on ice and snow in a big truck and broke traction, I still think about it to this day, 44 years later.

You and me both. You’re never truly prepared for that moment. Thankfully I kept it upright and out of a jack knife and the ditch.

    25yrs later for me.

I remember a very specific moment. I had been driving about a year and got a little too confident. I was going to Anheuser in Fort Collins to get loaded (empty dry van behind me) and it wasn't snowing but it had previously and the road between I-25 and the plant was completely unplowed. I decided to drive just the same speed as normal and started braking for a turn to find out I had braked a little too late. Luckily I slid completely straight and actually slowed down enough (barely) to make my turn. Lesson learned, and the fact that still I remember this so well is a testament to that.
