Driver facing camera

Because everything is racist these days. That word used to mean something, now it’s just a throwaway word because everyone hears it 50 times a day.

 

As far as cameras go, they’re not secret. The people who choose to work for a carrier that has them know that they’re in the truck. 45 years is just right for this smoothbrain in my opinion. Any less and he’d just be out on the road again pulling retarded stunts.

 

Like i said before it wasnt the vid of him inside the cab that had people hate him. The only thing that did is prove he didnt even look which would have gotten him a negligent homicide at worst, and even his lack of reaction at worst would have been handwaved off by most as shock. Even without the camera he was likely to catch some pretty serious charges.

What got him treated like that was the video the guy took with a cellphone after the wreck showing him smirking and no remorse. The fact all of his previous EXTREMELY negitive record popped up, and this all happening at a time when to be frank a LOT of forigen drivers are killing people via shere incompetince to a point even the most diehard supporters of forigen drivers are having to acknowledge its becoming an issue.

Throw on back to back major multi fatality accidents in the news days apart, and an ongoing trial....yea he is going to get the book thrown at him if for no other reason then he was there. The fact he had some pretty damning previous encounters and those videos of at least 2 i know of got FOIAed or publicly released showing how unhinged and violent he was.....not a great look.

This had little to nothing to do with the internal camera. All that did is prove he was at fault.

 

45 years is way too excessive in my book. Intent has to be measured here. He made a dumb move, true enough but 45 years?

 

No, they decided to file homicide charges on him because what he did was homicide… Because anybody with a brain knows , you make a U-turn like that over a busy highway you know for a fact that somebody hit you guess what they’re dead… Oh, not to mention what he did was illegal a sign right there that says no charge authorize use only… That’s another reason for the homicide charge

 

Nah, we need stiff consequences for everyone who does retarded stuff like this and then maybe there will be a second thought that goes through someone’s head before they do it. Same when someone slams into someone parked on the shoulder, unless it’s a legit emergency the person parked needs to start getting in trouble too.

 

Well. We differ in opinion there. I don't view a death caused by a U-turn the same as a first degree murder. It isn't like the driver woke up that morning and said I'm gonna set out to kill someone. I'm not saying he shouldn't get punished, because sometimes mistakes come with punishments. Sometimes bad decisions that result in inadvertent consequences come with punishments. 45 years is excessive when there's no malice involved.

To your 2nd point.....why should a driver parked on the shoulder get punished for being slammed into? Chances are the person who did the slamming either wasn't paying attention or fell asleep at the wheel. That person's feet should be held to the fire. A trucker parking on the shoulder is more related to somewhat of a broken system. Sure. Maybe the trucker could take some heat for poor trip planning, but sometimes that plan gets derailed. I just fail to see how a person hitting a stationary object doesn't catch 95 percent of the flack.

 

- Are the Companies throwing the drivers under the bus? I am sure they didn't encourage him to make an illegal turn...Owners or management are not in the drivers seat, however they do bear responsibilities for hiring unqualified or untrained drivers...but in the end...it is the person behind the wheel who bears the ultimate responsibility and will have answer to the Law and to God .....

 

I agree 45 + is harsh - however he should serve 10 per person = 30 yrs....

 

Well, you missed the point. If there were stiff consequences and people knew that then maybe they would use the thinker between their ears a little more before making a poor choice. But there’s nothing to make them have a second thought when people’s first reaction is “oh well, he didn’t mean to so he shouldn’t get in that much trouble”.

As far as shoulder parkers, how many do you see parked in the emergency lane with their triangles out? Because it’s supposed to be for emergency parking only. If they’re parked illegally they bear some of the responsibility for getting smacked.

We have a different view of things. I think stupid actions should be dealt with severely to hopefully deter future stupid actions by other people.
