Oh my apologies. I got my responses mixed up.
The Smart Park APU in my experience has varied. But on a typical 10 hour break, in the sunbelt, in the summertime, the opti idol will come on every 3-5 hours. Now, when I get up, and brew a cup
Of coffee with my Krureg, the engine will always come on because of the wattage of that coffee maker. A lot has to due with how high you run the AC fan the sleeper and the degrees setting you set.
At first The Opti Idle would wake me up. But I’m really light sleeper.
It doesn’t bother me now however. As far as the beeping. To be honest with you, I find it like one of those noises where youhave to consciously listen in for it in order to hear the beeping, otherwise you won’t hear it. At least in my experience.
I’m speaking of the beep noise warning that the engine is about to turnover to charge the batteries.
I really can’t answer as to how long the batteries last as I don’t know. I would suspect they will last 3-5yrs as designed ? That’s my quess, not fact.
I’d say it took me about a month or so to get used to the opti idle. With the truck shaking. Again. I never really noticed that beep
Noise unless I made a conscious effort to.
Lastly, it’s far to point out, that Holland’s trucks will idle 100+ degrees or 0 degrees and lower.

Was. Blue and orange Holland (USF Holland) was part of Yellow/YRC and died when YRC went bust back in '23. So I'm assuming this thread is about red/white HollandIWX6279 and dave01282000 Thank this.

There's another red Holland that is based out of Holland, MI I believe. They are much smaller though.

Holland Ent is a good outfit..... Beware of Great Plains also owned by a Holland. Not the same ownership.

I'm confused. Owned by Holland but not the same ownership? What does that mean?

Sorry for delay. Here’s an up to date post.
I came off of home time in Richmond,Va on September, 16th and picked up a load in Virginia Beach @ 1200 and took that to Aurora, CO and delivered September, 19th @0930. Load was 110 empty and 1763 loaded
I then picked up in Brighton, CO on the same day at 1100 and took that load to Phoenix, AZ and delivered that this morning for an 0800 appointment. This load was 22 miles empty and 965 loaded.
I’m now picking up in Casa Grande, AZ and I deliver this load in Danville, IL on Thursday, the 25th at 2345. This load is 55 empty and 1770 loaded.

Thinking about making the switch to Holland. Currently drive for Fremont Contract Carriers, been here for 2+ years but miles seem to have dropped, getting tired of these 500-600 mile runs. I miss those 1200 mile long runs. It's been about 5 years since I drove reefer, dry van freight is crap. I do like what I here about holland.

That's insightful because I'm trying to decide between those two companies.Bl19811 Thanks this.

Great write up and great miles, don’t see many companies with miles like these. What’s their pay like? Cpm or %?
