I hate to say it but the op is in for a rude awakening once he moves here and realizes he can’t get hired or it’s low paying driving jobs . i’ve spoken to a few guys at different customers who were security guards trying to get into the industry and say no one is hiring or it’s crappy jobs paying peanuts.like i said there’s way more opportunities state side vs here in canada where you can make a really good living

Dude, Stop. You're in the PACNW, just move to a southern state and enjoy life. You will not get hired in Canada, period, end of story. You will not be able to afford to live here on your own. Purolator and Canpar want 5-10+ years exp IN CANADA, with a flawless record, and it still pays below the quality of life standard.

If you hate the political situation in the US, trust me it's 100X worse here (Just less televised). If the US opened up Visa's to all natural Canadians Citizens, half the country would leave tomorrow. As it is, Canada has the most natural citizens in the world, living outside of the country.

Lemme just say this bluntly, as someone born and raised in "The Supposed Best City in Canada" you don't want to be here, its a #### meat grinder, and its only getting worse daily.

Why not come, stay for a month, and see for yourself if it’s worth it? Do hands on research.

Lots of people do take him seriously. Just look at his actions too. I'm fed up with this excuse of ''he's just joking''.

Never said he was joking, he’s bloviating. Liked to hear himself think he’s got absolute power.

Problem in Ontario, Canada (If that is OP's destination to move to) the OTR truckers are having issues establishing decent jobs in this Tariff/Freight Recession etc. times. Even the O/O situation for those leasing on to Carriers offer 15% dispatch charges trailer included or $1.10 per mile company pays all the expenses.

Problem is with this situation is they control how much freight you're going to get! Divided that into (2) for a CDL Drivers wage plus they will probably deduct another $0.15 for the dispatcher fees so at best $0.40 CPM at best. Plus their 90% Punjabi owners who never care to speak English when in front of their fellow country men giving you the worse lanes if any at all. The joke is trying to under them and the broken English is beyond any normal level of a challenge.
