I was lucky to get 2000 a week. It was ok..just not enough $$$. May isn't known to be high paying by any means. They are starter company and they know it..its their biz plan. As far as a company they weren't bad just low pay. If it was more $$$ I may have stuck with it longer but I went back otr.
Paper mills.. most all of your loads are gonna be heavy, the places are kind of spread out all over the place, they stink, dirty..but once you go to the same ones routinely, its not too bad. Some I unloaded shredded boxes paper etc and had to blow out the trailer, no biggie. If I wanted to be home more I would consider it again if the $$$ was right. I would say the bad days equaled the ok days, it was tolerable for a while. Can't say it's worse than reefer.

And when you're home for a reset, isn't it usually only a 34? Not much of a life.

I usually booked it to a truck stop off the interstate. There was a Loves in Evergreen Al I stayed at quite often. It was about a 90 min ride from that paper mill in west Bama I went to a lot. There are few mom and pop truck stops scattered about out there I stayed at seems a stayed at a few of those in s. Georgia....also u might find an abandoned gas station.A very few of the mills had overnight parking, there was one near GP at Selma Al I stayed at overnight a few times. If you are down in the upper part of Florida there is a huge Petro near Ocala off 75 where there was always parking.
If you go to Savannah it sucks..too many container trucks driving like maniacs, and get ready to sit in the line for a scale during the day there. There was a cool shipper in Kingsport ga I stayed at a few times..small with plenty of parking and if you have a dog you know how important lush grass is. It may not always be papermills either, half the time it was just warehouses that stored paper rolls or the like. It was just a mixed bag.
I talked with my friend about 6 months before he passed about PTI. He had been there a couple of years and said they were a good company, he had no real complaints. I say give them a try, once you get the hang of the paper mills, and if this is a dedicated account it, might be OK. I might look into it again in the next year or so if the pay is right.. bringing home1500 a week is OK for a weekly deal. The paper mills are mostly in the boonies down here. I've lived in Alabama all my life except for a few years in Tennessee, spent a lot of time in Florida, and I went to places off the beaten path I never knew existed. People never really know the swamper folk that exist off the interstate in northern Florida :) . You will enjoy the scenery getting off the main roads. I did a lot of running the back roads down there late at night which was always fun.

++ I will add my friend at PTI passed ( Diabetes complications) about 7 years ago so a bit of old info but I haven't heard anything negative of them since, but things change, especially the rocky road trucking has experienced the past few years.++ Good luck!

Do not work for Paper Transport.

Paper Transport is literally the worst trucking company in America. They are extremely delusional, use outdated software and processes. The company is in business because of 1 customer and everything else is there. Admin/operations workers think they are gods and they have 0 terminals, 0 mechanics, 0 property.

I was stalked by someone who worked there, assaulted by staff multiple times while I was at orientation, drugged, kidnapped and more all while at orientation. These people are old and useless, there is nothing good about the company and as far as I am concerned they are a criminal organization. If you want any information about Paper Transport please contact me.

Stalked, assaulted, drugged and kidnapped? Glad you were able to escape. Any arrests made? How has the therapy been working for you?

Just a word of advice, PTI had lost 2-3 major contracts in the last 3 years. theyre basically surviving off of GNC dedicated.

That's so awesome to hear. I am surprised they haven't folded yet like other companies their size and caliber
