Had no trouble making $75 to 80 k running a chemical tank regional and probably averaged spending no more than 20 nights a year in the sleeper.

Start your own company and pay above average wages to your drivers then. You’d have no shortage of people lined up to work for you. If you want paid more then do something that provides more value. What you think your worth and what your actually worth are rarely the same figure. Having a CDL makes you skilled labor but having a CDL with endorsements, along with other capabilities makes you an asset.
