Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

I couldn't say it better myself amigo. That is exactly how I feel. Very rarely do I have a day where I get to just drive and I'm pretty much bored instantly.

 

I decided to make the best of this week. Treat it like a vacation. A vacation where I don’t do anything but rest. I needed it. I’m just here in case someone quits, a Truck breaks down, anything that disrupts the schedule. It’s a brand new contract. First week. Suddenly increasing the size of the company almost 50%. Bought 30 new Trucks, now have 90 Trucks. They under bid a mega. I’m impressed. News reporters outside the factory yesterday. Today I hear they’re shifting Canadian work to this plant. It’s going to be a great thing for this company. I like what I’ve been doing. 2-3 days local on average and 2-3 days covering dedicated runs. It’s a good mix. I just agree with whatever they need. Never hesitate or complain. Plenty of surprises, but it beats the monotony of doing the same thing every day. I’m going to keep doing this for now. They’re always asking if everything’s going ok. I’ve been honest with them from the beginning. They know I may re-activate my Authority. Never know, might book loads with them someday. Meanwhile I have to work somewhere. Nothing lasts forever. I definitely won’t just quit without notice, like most do. Won’t leave them hanging. They’ve been fair with me so far. That’s all I can expect. Works both ways.

 

I used to listen to podcasts. Sometimes you get books, sometimes you get programs like Dateline or America's favorite serial killers. But it would sure make the time go by.
It's easy.....just need a standard patch cable (really just a wire), and plug that rascal into your radio.
Then bring up I heart radio and press go. Pretty simple stuff, really.
But it sure makes the day go by.

 

Cooler temps seem to be here, Fueled my new trailer this morning for the first time this month… it took 22 gallons

might have to hook up to the old one so I can write off some fuel going into the end of the year…. Seems to be hovering about $3.13 a gallon around here

I can't even understand what they are saying on their voice mails half the time. What is the grift? Are they booking loads off the load board and taking some off the top or are they going to put you on one load and steal all the pay?
