When I was a rock hauler in the late 70's in Wis. there was a guy with a cabover Freightliner with a V12 Detroit. He worked on it more than he drove it. Sure passed everyone,,,when it ran, that is. The 12V-71 had a claimed hp of 450, ( although some were turned up much higher) and in a world of 180 Cats and 250 Cummins, it was the hottest stick on the highway, for a while.

That truck belongs to “Ol2Stroker” on YouTube. He’s documenting the resurrection of the old 352. He also has a beautiful old 359 that’s a former International Transport unit, met him at a truck show a few weeks ago. Yesterday I bribed him with some beer so he let me hang out and watch him work for a while. Super nice guy and I enjoy his vids…

I hear ya', I read a late 60s D8 Cat weighed about 58,000lbs, each,, with a blade, over 60K, so that would be a "jail load" on our side. I don't see any chains, so they weren't going far, still, Mack the best around the world,,
