Most folks nowadays won't even notice them. It's easy enough to do...Y'all think they would make sense on a deleted isx?

 

Sense or no sense, I’d do it just for the look, if I had a pair. Of tops that is.

 

Local to me Western Star has them. Could be a super nice truck if the guy would keep it up better.

 

I run Stihl brand bar and chain oil on the fifth wheel plates. Nice and tacky, non synthetic in orange bottle. Have used it for many moons. A little goes a long way..

 

What is the deal with the air cleaners? I've never seen that style down here in south Texas.

 

They’re called cold weather tops.
You shut the slide plates on the breather top to restrict how much air gets pulled from outside and then the majority of the air gets pulled through the upper tubes that are sucking warm(er) air from under the hood.
It is for extremely cold temperatures.

is there an encasement the breather intake connects to on top of engine ? Or just under the hood .
