1099 vs. W-2 (Company Driver)

I’ve been out of the game for a while, but there used to be so many of these types of companies in Chicagoland run by Eastern Euro / Russian families .

They would pay 1099 , change DOT numbers and LLC’s constantly and give new drivers brand new trucks and promise the world

I clearly stated “I’ve been out of the game for a while” so I don’t know anymore .

I’m not one to give false information if I’m not current .

 

That statement reminded me so much about a science fiction book I once read. I don't remember what they were called but they were used as witnesses.
They would state exactly what they saw, but no more or less.Just the facts, as it were. No detail was unimportant, and no detail embellished in the slightest way

It might have been Ringworld.
A show and/or movie series based on that book could go a long way in ending the Star Wars/ Star Trek domination, and in a totally unique way.

I believe you ment to say “mis classified”, common mistake when talking about company drivers being paid on a 1099.

 

Misinformed" means being given or having incorrect or inaccurate information.

 

Mis classified, I don't care. Independent contractor, what a scam. I promised myself to never work for 1099 companies, because they are all foreigners or some underworld shady trucking company.
