Ol’ girl had to get trailered back to Vegas a few weeks back before my KW got put on the road. Injector cups took a dive and she was pushing diesel through the coolant and out the reservoir. She’s back from the shop sitting in the yard now. Gotta get her washed this week so I can add her to my rotation.

what’s some suggestions for fixing the ever annoying hood squeak ? Do the hood skins work?

 

A sock around the pad on the firewall. Basically anything as a buffer between that pad and the hood.

 

Yep socks, anytime I have a sock with a small hole in it it automatically goes on one of the hood pads, the wear out quick up there

 

I've put some grease on the pad and it helped a lot. Zero squeaks and if it starts to I just put some more. You just need a little bit don't get too crazy.

The little plastic bushings in the hood hinges also cause a lot of noise if they're worn out.



Never tried the sock trick put I might next time.

 

Nothing too exciting this week. A pic that a friend of mine sent me that was posted on a Facebook page (that’s why the truck should always be clean), a weird station in Yuma CO that was all sand except they had concrete around the lids, a couple rounds to Rapid City again this week, and some tacos after my last stop tonight.
