i thought the same about GM several years ago but we the people bailed em out what a joke . I dont think they getting the same sweet deal tho .

The difference is that in GM’s case there was a lot of politics involved in that one!

They’re not the only ones that have been having issues with PACCAR and the service. The issues with MX engines are very well documented,plus the constant recalls over the past few months (including the instrument panel recall that the government FORCED PACCAR to issue) are causing significant downtime problems. At my home terminal we’re practically keeping spare replacement transmissions (Eaton Endurant automated manual transmissions) on hand in case we have trucks towed in needing a replacement!
PACCAR lately hasn’t been able to build a truck right any other day of the week,let alone a Monday or Friday!Last edited: Jan 4, 2025

The bean counters spec’ing the 455 are the issue. The 510’s don’t have near the problems. I will 100% order another 510 MX before I’d order an X15 just based on the X15’s I know around me. I know of one X15 (565/1850) that was in Lincoln for 62 days while the owner argued with a Cummins because they didn’t want to overhaul it under warranty even though it had less than 200k on it. Meanwhile the same guy had a 510 MX need overhauled at 492k and Paccar sent a new long block out and that truck wasn’t down for more than two weeks.

The dedicated account I was in with them was pretty nice, but the regular load board stuff wasn't. They didn't have enough business to keep their drivers moving and their fuel solutions program was a disaster. The card reader at their terminal pump didn't work very well and you had to activate the pump a second time to ad DEF after fueling everywhere you got DEF. And if you didn't get fuel at the terminal because their equipment didn't work they'd get upset with you, it was obviously the drivers fault just like every other problem in trucking.hope not dumb twucker and bzinger Thank this.
